Y CÓNSUL GENERAL DE LA REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ ANTE LA REPÚBLICA DE COREA, PARTICIPA EN LA REUNIÓN Y ALMUERZO DE TRABAJO ENTRE S.E. WOO, WON-SHIK, PRESIDENTE DE LA ASAMBLEA NACIONAL DE LA REPÚBLICA DE COREA Y EMBAJADORES DE LOS PAÍSES LATINOAMERICANOS.
ESTE DÍA SE LE CONCEDIÓ UN (1) MINUTO A CADA PAÍS PARA EXPRESAR UNAS PALABRAS.

Panamá valora
profundamente el espíritu de cooperación y amistad que compartimos con la
República de Corea, basado en el respeto mutuo por la democracia, la soberanía
y la libertad.
Nos mantenemos firmes
en nuestro compromiso con el diálogo pacífico como camino para salvaguardar
estos principios.
Es con este espíritu
que reiteramos: El Canal de Panamá está y seguirá estando bajo
administración panameña, tal como lo prevén los Tratados Torrijos-Carter y
lo respalda el Tratado de Neutralidad, del cual Corea es un orgulloso
signatario.
Desde su transferencia
en 1999, el Canal ha operado eficientemente y sin interferencia extranjera,
sirviendo al comercio global durante más de 25 años.
Hoy hago un llamado a
la comunidad internacional para que continúe defendiendo nuestros valores
compartidos, garantizando que la democracia, la soberanía y la libertad guíen
nuestro futuro colectivo.

WOO, WON-SHIK, PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA AND AMBASSADORS OF LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES.
THIS DAY, EACH COUNTRY WAS ALLOWED ONE (1) MINUTE TO EXPRESS A SPEECH.
* SPEECH FROM H.E. DIEGO MANUEL VILLANUEVA MARTINELLI:
Panama deeply values the spirit of cooperation and
friendship we share with the Republic of Korea—one founded on mutual respect
for democracy, sovereignty, and freedom.
We stand firm in our commitment to peaceful dialogue
as the path to safeguard these principles.
It is in this spirit that we reiterate: The Panama
Canal is and will remain under Panamanian administration, as envisioned by
the Torrijos-Carter Treaties and upheld by the Treaty of Neutrality, to which
Korea is a proud signatory.
Since its transfer in 1999, the Canal has operated
efficiently and without foreign interference, serving global trade for over 25
years.
Today, I call upon the international community to
continue championing our shared values, ensuring that democracy, sovereignty,
and liberty guide our collective future.
